Let’s face it, when it comes to web development, there are too many options. And chances are, the options you choose is the most “convenient” to work with – not the most efficient, optimized or practical.
Almost anybody is capable for building wordpress sites based on a theme. But not everybody anticipates growth, scale and best practices. A website’s development doesn’t just end after it’s finished,
it grows in functionality as it scales.
We understand what most clients want. We anticipate the site requirements, features and functionality they would need. We help coordinate the agencies efforts to focus on what the good at – creativity and media. We simply help you with web.
More than five years ago, this site started out as a mere HTML site. It’s goal was simple, integrate the content the author needs to establish an audience. We didn’t think much of it at first. It was just a simple site.
But over a period of time, the site’s traffic and popularity grew slowly but upward. We started to make little improvements on the site by using wordpress while it was at it’s infancy. It was never a full-blown upgrade, but rather a series of tiny fixes that was slowly applied to the site’s existing “HTML” functionality yet ironically still using the old style layout.
This humble looking site is now a huge source of revenue for the owner. Changes are still being made at a slow pace mainly because the site owner likes the old ways. But don’t let the style and basic look of the site fool you. It is an extremely fast site with a huge backend and thousands of articles behind it. One day, we’ll rebuild it entirely but for now, it’s running and doing it’s job under our care for literally more than half a decade.
We worked in assisting The Shephard Agency with converting an existing HTML site into a fully functional wordpress site. The requirements we’re simple, follow the exact specifications that the designer came up with. We already knew, this project was a challenge because converting a width restricted site based on HTML is never going to work well with a wordpress site. But we liked to explore and take the challenge.
We built the site to follow the design specs of the client but would also take full advantage of a functional wordpress site based on the Genesis Framework. The site has now outlived it’s usefulness and is in need of a major upgrade. After assisting 2 different agencies, we are now given a chance to bid for the opportunity to upgrade this site entirely. So the project is currently under development.
This is an interesting project for an information site. Client specifically requested the same structure following “understandingrelationships.com” but as a medical information site, it wouldn’t have a lot of photos or interesting content but purely a site built for storing helpful information.
So instead of trying to focus on imagery or eye candy, we focused on making the possibility of categorizing data more interesting by adding key elements such as category icons and utilizing custom post type templates for display. It’s just another way to demonstrate that not all solutions for sites are created equal and there is no “one-size fits all” approach. It makes sense to understand the goal and the site’s use.
We try to identify the elements that would contribute to a better your business processes online. It is our job to help you make sense of your options. So we play many roles just so you can understand how we fit in your puzzle.
